Meet CIVIKA, where citizenship begins

Guatemala needs more citizens like you. How? Citizens interested in making a real change. At MCN, we believe that civics is synonymous with freedom. That is why we share with all citizens an open, free, and accessible civic education platform, designed for everyone, regardless of age, academic level, or prior experience.

Made for citizens who don't conform, like you.

CIVIKA is born from a deep conviction: there can be no full citizenship without knowledge. We know that to defend our freedom and demand a better country, it is first necessary to understand it. This civic education initiative will not be limited to explaining what a law is or how elections work, but will be a complete journey through the values that sustain a true Republic, such as civility, responsibility in economic decisions, market economy, citizen participation, and the defense of freedom.

At CIVIKA, your civic education is free, but very valuable.

CIVIKA is a modern and easy-to-understand tool, with interactive modules, audiovisual content, practical guides, and real-life examples of the country's public and economic life. We want all Guatemalans to understand everything from how a national budget is approved to why economic freedom is key to individual liberty. We want to train citizens, entrepreneurs, community leaders, young people with critical thinking, but mainly, active, participative, and responsible citizens.

Get ready to learn, question, and participate. Ignorance is power's favorite weapon. Ours is CIVIKA, a clear, free, and straightforward platform for you to learn at your own pace, without pressure or barriers, and regardless of your prior experience or knowledge.

Sign up today and start training your citizenship.

Testimonials

Joining the MCN was an excellent decision! I have learned a lot about how to dialogue with people of different ideologies and how to sustain a constructive debate. Likewise, I have learned about the importance of institutions in government and the role we all have as citizens in forging a better nation.

-Ian Safie

My experience with the National Civic Movement has been key in my development as a citizen leader. Through its activities, I have deeply understood republican principles, exercised civic activism, and connected with young people committed to the change we need to see in our country. The MCN has provided me with tools, valuable experiences, and the inspiration to raise my voice on social media and promote young leadership, which has allowed me to upload content to motivate young people in Guatemala to be brave and responsible. More than a movement, the MCN is a place for those of us who believe in freedom, values, and the transformative power of active citizenship.

-Majo Salán

After almost 4 years of being in the MCN, I can say that it has been an invaluable experience. Not only for the obvious ability to participate and contribute to the transformation of Guatemala, but also for personal growth by pushing me out of my comfort zone and participating in forums, videos, mentoring, and many more events. Something I never would have imagined or thought I was capable of doing 5 years ago. The MCN has taught me that the fight for the values of liberty and the Republic must be fought on all fronts and never stops until a freer country is achieved.

- Hilmar Pineda

After a year and a half as a member of the National Civic Movement, in this space I have found a place for the exchange of ideas, the promotion of civility and, above all, action. The MCN has strengthened my leadership skills and reinforced my commitment as an active citizen, who not only observes, but also acts.
