From the MCN, we promote the importance of demanding clear rules, public procedures, and institutional standards that strengthen trust in institutions. During the activity, we held a discussion panel with the participation of Marielos Fuentes, José Carlos Ortega, and Christa Walters, moderated by Luisa Fernanda Toledo. In this space, we analyzed the main opportunities and risks that appointment processes face, as well as the desirable standards that should govern them. The dialogue allowed us to identify practices that weaken institutionality and highlight the need for transparency mechanisms and citizen oversight.
Let's talk about what's at stake
We invited attendees to sign the Citizen Charter, both physically and via a QR code, as a way of supporting the call for clear processes subject to public scrutiny. The signature represents an expression of civic commitment to citizen oversight and the strengthening of the Rule of Law.

We announce the launch of our new CIVIKA: The ABC of Elections course, designed to provide basic tools to understand the functioning of electoral processes, their stages, and actors. This course seeks to contribute to informed and responsible citizen participation in a key political context for the country. With the launch of the Charter and the presentation of the new course, from the National Civic Movement, we reaffirm our commitment to transparency, institutionality, and citizen participation. We continue to invite citizens to sign the Citizen Charter for Transparency and Institutionality 2026 and to actively join this effort of oversight and civic responsibility.
