This gathering was born with a clear purpose: to invite citizens to learn firsthand about the values of the Republic and the building of responsible citizenship. From the beginning, we set out to create a close, transparent, and dynamic environment to showcase what we do and, above all, to share why we believe that an informed and active citizenry is key to transforming Guatemala.
During the Open House, we enthusiastically presented CIVIKA, our civic education platform. CIVIKA is a project designed so that any Guatemalan can access free courses that help them better understand the importance of republican values, democratic institutions, and the exercise of active citizenship. We shared how the platform is intended to be an accessible and practical resource, with content that strengthens the understanding of our rights and duties, and that motivates each person to become an agent of change.
On this day, we not only talked about education and civics; we also set out to create a space for coexistence that reflected what it means to build community. We organized different activities and games that helped us share among ourselves, generating a joyful and participatory atmosphere. We also had networking spaces, where attending citizens could meet, exchange ideas, and establish connections that strengthen civic collaboration.
Being good citizens means being informed, knowing our rights, and actively participating in the country's political life. We also recalled that the Republic is defended every day, not just with speeches, but with actions. At this Open House, we reaffirmed our commitment to continue building an open space for all those who want to join this effort.
