The Members Program is a space for young people between 18 and 35 years old who participate in the MCN in civic engagement activities for civic promotion and the strengthening of the Republic, based on respect for fundamental rights such as life, liberty, and the right to enjoy the fruit of one's own labor.
The process to become a member consists of five training sessions covering five topics:
- • History of the MCN
- • Republicanism
- • Economy
- • Political System of Guatemala
- • Citizen Participation
The Members Program has various training and action activities. In the training axis, we have the Leadership School, where we conduct different workshops; Civic Chronicles; and the International Conference, where successful lessons and examples are presented to foster the exchange of ideas. And in the action axis, we have civic days, where we carry out volunteer work with other organizations; Citizen Dialogues, a space to generate dialogues on the main challenges identified to articulate and promote proposals to the respective authorities; and civic activism campaigns to strengthen the republican system.
In 2023, the Members Program was recognized by the Youth Participation Handbook of the European Democracy Youth Network (EDYN), which presents 25 successful case studies showcasing best practices for fostering youth political and civic participation in diverse sociopolitical contexts.
We are already over 100! Join the civic community that builds the changes we want to see in Guate here. By being part of the National Civic Movement, you can participate in our training and civic action activities.
