During the dialogue, Dr. Sabino presented his vision of the contemporary democratic model, pointing out how, in many cases, it has become a facade that justifies abuses of power, institutional concentration, and decisions detached from the citizens. His approach does not seek to abolish democracy but to rescue its essence and warn about the dangers of turning it into an unquestionable absolute.
The author insists that democracy cannot be sustained without clear limits on public power. In this regard, he defended the importance of republican principles: the separation of powers, respect for the rule of law, and the defense of individual liberty. These elements should not be sacrificed in the name of circumstantial majorities or a misunderstood popular will.

The conversation was as provocative as it was necessary. In times when public debate often avoids uncomfortable topics, spaces like Crónicas Cívicas seek precisely the opposite: to open honest, challenging discussions focused on ideas that may be uncomfortable but are urgent to address.
Behind each edition of Crónicas Cívicas are professionals committed to something greater than their area of specialization: the transformation of the country. Their constant participation brings rigor, depth, and intellectual courage. They do not come to repeat what is already known but to question the established, connect with reality, and propose new paths. In a context where critical knowledge is scarce, their voice is an act of public responsibility.
From the Movimiento Cívico Nacional (MCN), we firmly believe in the value of critical thinking and the need to create spaces where diverse voices can dialogue about the present and future of our institutions. Dr. Sabino's visit reaffirms that commitment to freedom, reason, and civility.
