The responsible civic participation of citizens is essential for the Republic. Together with thousands of Guatemalans, we promote changes to strengthen and protect our Republic. Also to control the use of public power and protect our freedom.
In 2023, our Membership Program reached over 100 Guatemalans.
Through the two pillars of the program (training and action), we conducted 41 workshops on republican civic leadership and training, in which 1,462 Guatemalans participated.
Through our Citizen Dialogues, we reached 120 Guatemalans. In these spaces, we seek solutions for the social problems facing the country.
We also carried out the Yo Voto Mejor project. With the support of 300 Guatemalans, we created a platform with information on 3,796 candidates in the 2023 general elections.
We held 7 debates in which 44 candidates from different mayoralties participated.
To protect our Republic, we filed an amparo action to protect the indispensable separation of powers.
We carried out activism campaigns to bring water to communities in need.
Through strategic engagement, together with other Guatemalan organizations and foreign actors, we pursued common goals. Among them, the importance of defending freedom and the principles of the Republic. As a result, we coordinated with Foro Madrid the visit of 17 parliamentarians from 8 Latin American countries to conduct electoral observation with us.
Together with the Atlantic Council, we organized the Millennium Leadership Program study trip, where 30 public and private sector leaders from around the world visited different places in Guatemala to experience the country's political and economic dynamics.
We promoted stimulating conversations that crossed borders by participating in international forums and publications. One of them was the chapter "The False Right and Its Effects on the Legitimate Defense of Guatemala's Future" by Christa Walters in the book ¡Menos ideas y más moderación! by the Disenso Foundation.
2024 is full of action! As our mission is to help strengthen the institutions that make the Republic work, this year we will focus on promoting various causes to build the political system we so deeply desire.
